Serenading songwriter Robin Thicke hopes to turn on the charm this Valentine’s Day with his latest single, “Lucky Star.”
Riddled with romance was written by Thicke, Nasri, and James Gass, “Lucky Star” offers an intimate guitar strum and a message that is sure to make you fall in love.
“Lucky Star / Make my dreams come true / Play your part / Said I’m counting on you / Lucky Star / Paint my gray skies blue / See my heart / And what I’m going through,” Thicke croons as the track opens.
Thicke shared how recording the track played a part in the album’s completion. “This is the last song I wrote for the album, and when I recorded it, I knew the project was complete. It was the last piece of the puzzle,” he explains. “I think there’s something universal about (‘Lucky Star’),” he details about the song’s meaning. “We all go through tough times, and we all need someone to love us, and show us the way, and guide us.”
“Lucky Star” follows a round of singles released by Thicke, including “Beautiful” and the Pharrell-assisted “Take Me Higher.”
Thicke will release his new album On Earth, and in Heaven on February 12.
