You can’t trust anyone who says R&B is dead when you have artists like Remey releasing music with substance. The R&B newcomer has shared another song from his pending debut EP, which is slated for release in early summer.
“Real Love Ain’t Safe” is a slow-burning single that doesn’t stray far from familiar sounds of R&B juggernauts Tank and Trey Songz. Remey’s melodically suave tone opens the door for sincerity to rush through and have its way with listeners.
In defining real love in a press release, Remey said, “It’s hard to love all of someone when they’re afraid to give you all of them. We all have flaws, some parts of us lack confidence. That’s the part I want to know. That’s the part I want to fall in love with. That’s what makes you.”
“It is a risk to give that person that side of you but if it’s a person I want to spend my forever with, let’s go all the way. No 50/50 keep it 100!”
Remy compliments the perfect addition to any romantic playlist with an accompanying music video. Watch it above.
“Real Love Ain’t Safe” follows last year’s “I’m Good,” his debut single. Prior to that, Remey contributed to his songwriting abilities to Summer Walker’s CLEAR EP and Brik Liam’s What’s the Matter Brik? project.
