Roddy Ricch Reveals His Favorite Album of All Time

Kanye West has the greatest album of all time, according to Roddy Ricch.

In an interview with Complex, “The Box” rapper declared My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy as his favorite album.

“I gotta give it to Kanye, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,” he said of Ye’s acclaimed 2010 project. “Mainly ’cause of everything he put into the album. Just having all the different types of elements to it, and making it one body of work. He tapped into timeless music.”

Roddy was inspired after recently linking up with the Yeezy founder in Calabasas. “He showed me there’s more to life than just music. He taught me [about] really building empires. You’ve got clothes, or you’ve got a drink, or you’ve got this or that, and it’s all attached to you,” he said.

“He was building things that don’t got nothing to do with music, with different rooms having different ideas. Even building up a community or a civilization that can start and become something else. That’s a crazy thing to do. Just growing your own produce, and all these different things… It opened my mind.”

Despite his love for Kanye, Roddy recently took issue with him disrespecting the Grammys. Without mentioning Ye by name, Roddy made reference to a viral video of the 22-time Grammy winner urinating on his Grammy in the toilet.

“If I get nominated for six Grammys and a ni**a I look to that had 22, 23, 24, 25 of these motherfu**ers and I come in here…I wanna get nominated for six this year, I feel like that’s a good number,” said Roddy, who lost his six nominations this year. “And this year this ni**a just pissed on that shit. Like, how you think that make the world look at my accomplishment, ni**a? I did all this shit and you pissin’ on shit. That shit be lame. I don’t really like that shit.”

He continued, “I feel like this a young ni**a world. Do what the f**k you wanna do. If you wanna go get a hundred Ms, a B, do that shit. Ni**a wanna make music, do that shit. Ni**a wanna build houses, do that shit. Ni**a wanna take over the world, do that shit. Don’t let none of these ni**as tell you nothing.”

The 22-year-old Compton rapper is now readying his next project, which could be Feed Tha Streets 3. “Coming off one of the biggest albums I could’ve done, I feel like taking them back to the basics with me,” he said. “There’s all the old fans I had when I first started rapping, and these new fans that I got since the big album and Grammys and everything. So I want to bridge the gap between my old fans and my new fans. That’s what I’m on a mission to do with this next situation that I’m working on.”
