Dawn Richard Steps Deep Into the ‘Jacuzzi’ on New Song

Like some hot food, Dawn Richard’s new single “Jacuzzi” needs to be blown a bit before stepping in.

The third offering from her forthcoming Second Line album describes an intimate interaction amongst lovers that she hopes prompts an exotic overload of steam and bubbles.

With lustful lyrics like “hit it like a snare” and “pull my hair,” you can bet a technician will be called out after this hot and heavy session.

Richard compliments the new song with a supporting video, which she dubs as a “digital simulation test.” It stars Richard and two other Black women, who each have experienced life in different ways.

In a press statement, Richard added, “This visual is the celebration of body positivity, that femininity and sexuality can be in any body form. The way a mother moves will be different from how a young woman with no kids in the prime of her 20s moves.

Doesn’t make her less sexy. Stretch marks, curves, blemishes, and imperfections are seen throughout the simulation. We chose to leave those unedited to showcase the beauty in the everyday women unfiltered.”

Second Line is scheduled to arrive, in various formats, on April 30 via Merge Records. It’s her first release at the new label home. The LP will include the singles “Pilot (a lude)” and “Bussifame.”

Her last album was 2019’s New Breed. It was declared one of the best R&B albums of 2020 by Rated R&B.
