Living legend and icon, Ms. Diana Ross releases new music after 15 years with first single “Thank You” from her comeback album of the same name due out this September.
“Thank You” is Ross’ first EP with original material in 22 years “This collection of songs is my gift to you with appreciation and love,” Ross said in a statement. “I am eternally grateful that I had the opportunity to record this glorious music at this time. I dedicate this songbook of love to all of you, the listeners. As you hear my voice you hear my heart.”
Thank You” has a retro-motownish vibe that brings you back to the classic RnB sound we’ve all been missing. Ross has made the perfect summer feel good song oozing with positivity as the world tries to return to some sense of normalcy. “Thank You” is reminiscent of Ross’ version of the song “You’re All I Need To Get By,” and combines her disco laden era tracks “Upside Down,” and “I’m Coming Out.” Ross has a hit on her hands.
The video for “Thank You” mixes scenes of Ross’ career and sample lyrics from her song “You are my healing,” and classic interview clips. It showcases her iconic beauty, glamour and the fabulousness that is synonymous with Ms. Ross.
