After the COVID-19 pandemic ruthlessly thwarted any chances of Phoebe Bridgers touring live in 2020, the Grammy-nominated singer has announced a fall 2021 tour. This marks the first time she will perform her mega-hit Punisher for a traditional, ticketed audience.
The Phoebe Bridgers Reunion Tour kicks off in St. Louis, Missouri on September 3 and ends in Washington, DC on October 26. In between, Bridgers will visit 20 different states across North America. She will also perform at a variety of festivals, including Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, Pitchfork Music Festival, Firefly Music Festival, the Governors Ball, Austin City Limits and Shaky Knees. MUNA will support her on select dates.

Although Bridgers hasn’t been on tour since 2019, she went on a “virtual world tour” in May 2020. Instead of hopping from city to city, she performed in different locations in her house, from her bedroom to her kitchen. She also performed at two Tibet House benefit concerts as well as on Saturday Night Live in April 2021.
Bridger’s performance on SNL will go down in history as one of the show’s most confusingly controversial acts. After she smashed her guitar on stage while playing “I Know The End,” Bridgers’ performance received some criticism. Though a few people were hateful, Bridgers received massive support from many of her fans, including Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl.
Following the performance, Bridgers auctioned the guitar to benefit GLAAD, an organization that promotes positive representations of the LGBTQIA+ community in the media. You can watch the iconic performance below.

Bridgers is continuing to show her philanthropic nature as she gears up for her new tour. $1 from every ticket sold will be donated to the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization, RAINN. Actions like these show Bridgers using her platform to promote positive change.
In an interview with Alternative Press, the artist discussed leading by example to shake up harmful power structures in music with her own record label, Saddest Factory Records.
“You have to participate in these archaic forms of making stuff that can be really exhausting,” Bridgers says. “And now I do wield a certain amount of power—I have hiring capabilities at my label. I have hiring capabilities with my band. I actually have the power to make this system different from what I had to deal with when I was coming up and getting 360 deal offers for $10,000 when I was 18. It was $10,000 for 20 years of my life. That’s what [they] tried to buy me for.”

“I think there’s a community problem in music—performers look so different from people behind the scenes,” Bridgers continued. “There are very few queer people, people of color or women in administrative, boring-ass jobs. When they do enter music, they’re being pushed to the forefront, like, ‘Be an advocate for this system.’ Once I started having hiring capabilities or signing capabilities or whatever, turning the room that you work in or enter into somewhere where you share something with people is invaluable. I think community is what makes you powerful.”
