Exclusive Interview with Mr. Joey Stuckey

Hello Joey! So lovely to speak with you today!

Thanks so much for having me!

Tell us about your latest project!

There are three at the moment LOL. Putting the finishing touches on my new album. I was going to release this year but might wait until next year as I am not able to tour at the moment.

I also have some cool new T-shirts featuring my blind avatar Blink, check them out here: Joey Stuckey – Other Cool Stuff

And still very excited about the recent mini documentary “Don’t Blink” https://youtu.be/GqifHGG5cWo

Also, starting preliminary work on a new podcast called, Welcome to the Stuckeyverse and of course working hard for my studio/production clients at my pro studio www.shadowsoundstudio.com

What is a dream venue for you to perform in?

So many iconic places I would love to perform! I have had the great privilege to perform at two of my dream shows, the first was at the Georgia Music Hall of Fame with the B52’s, Trisha Yearwood and Tim Wilson. The other was at the world-famous Whisky A Go Go at the start of 2020 to a packed house!

Would still love to perform at the Cavern (where the Beatles got their start) and at the Space Needle!

I could go on and on!

If you were to open up your most used streaming service, what are five songs that would be on your most played list?

Single–

Dua Lipa Swan Song from the Alita Battle Angel Sound track, a bit obsessed with this film right now LOL

Albums–

Mingus at Carnagee Hall–Charles Mingus

Friday Night Is Killing Me–Bash and Pop.

Look Sharpe–Joe Jackson

Happier Than Ever–Billie Eilish.

Do you have a favorite ’90s jam?

Anything by George Michael or Nirvana LOL

What is your favorite movie soundtrack?

Either Singles or Star Wars!

How important do you think it is for artists to know and understand music history?

The more you know about the past, the better prepared you are for the future. However, I would say that history of your genre is important, though you don’t have to geek out on it like I do.

As I study the recording sciences and music business for my job as a producer and educator at the university level, for me it is most important!

Please let everyone know where they can keep up with you and your music!
