This morning (Feb. 25). Lavigne performed “Love It When You Hate Me” on Good Morning America. Before the performance, she was asked how it felt to be an inspiration to many young artists today like Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo. “It’s so crazy to hear that,” Lavigne says. “Those ladies are incredible songwriters and performers and I’ve met both of them and they’re lovely. I love what they’re doing musically.”
When asked about the new album, Lavigne says, “Fans can expect the same attitude they’ve gotten from me. But this album is really upbeat, it’s fast-paced pop-rock, punk-rock vibes. The album is called Love Sux, but it’s a fun, tongue-in-cheek way to look at the insane things love can do to us.” You can watch the full video and performance below.
Tonight, Lavigne will be performing an exclusive concert at the Roxy in Los Angeles. The invitation-only event is part of SiriusXM and Pandora‘s Small Stage series. She’ll perform music from Luv Sux as well as fan favorites. The Small Stages series concert will premiere on the SiriusXM app on March 2.
