Dethklok to Perform at the 2022 Adult Swim Festival Block Party

About a year ago, we learned that Adult Swim was finally listening to its hordes of annoying metalhead fans and making more Metalocalypse in the form of a movie. Now, the network has revealed that Dethklok, the live version of the fictional band in the show, will be performing at their 2022 Adult Swim Festival Block Party, alongside acts like Run The Jewels and Tierra Whack.

As you can see on the flyer below, the Adult Swim Festival Block Party will take place August 5th to 7th on the Fillmore Campus in Philadelphia. There’ll be panels on the network’s various shows, as well as a ton of other artist performances that our readership probably wouldn’t care about.

For those of you who don’t remember, the last time Dethklok performed live was at the Adult Swim Festival in November 2019. A lot has changed since then, of course, all of which makes the metal-themed future that Metalocalypse presents far more believable than maybe even we’d like.

Meanwhile, here’s the synopsis for the upcoming Metalocalypse movie:

“[The story] follows the power-hungry Tribunal as they unveil their secret and deadly ‘Falconback Project.’ This is against a backdrop of a world which is growing embattled in chaos with the menacing Doomstar breaching the Earth’s atmosphere. Meanwhile, the mysterious and twisted dissent of a band member threatens the future of Dethklok. Picking up directly after the heroic rescue of Toki Wartooth: Can Dethklok choose between their egos and the greater good of the world to embark on a gauntlet of dangers that will try their very souls and finally write the song that will be their salvation?”

Check out the full line-up below. Meanwhile, every episode of Metalocalypse is available to stream on HBO Max, so ruin your life, stay home, and bathe in the glory that is Dethklok.
