Original Misfits Tease Halloween Show in Dallas

The Original Misfits—the horror punk band’s classic lineup of Glenn Danzig, Jerry Only and Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein that reunited to play shows for millions of dollars even though they hate each other—have continued playing shows, presumably because they make a lot of money and no one is clamoring for new Danzig music right now.

Last night, August 3, they tweeted a photo of the Misfits skull logo carved into a jack-o-lantern in front of what appears to be the Dallas skyline with the caption:

“Where will the Original Misfits perform LIVE to celebrate Halloween 2022 and what other fiendish sights and sounds will appear on the bill…? Details coming soon Fiends”

Punknews.org suggested the possibility a few days earlier, pointing out that Dallas venue Dos Equis Pavilion posted a teaser image of the Misfits logo over the city skyline.

The Misfits are currently scheduled to play Walk Among Us at Riot Fest in September, so maybe a full-album set is on the menu for Halloween. Earlier this year, Danzig told Revolver that more shows were possible:

“We’re doing Riot Fest [in Chicago] this year. We’re doing the whole Walk Among Us record. So, we’ll see if there’s any other stuff [after that]. There’s been talk. I have the whole fall off, unless I’m doing a movie or something — and I don’t really like doing a movie during the winter. It’s too cold. So, we’ll see. There might be some Misfits shows.”

In the same interview, Danzig also said he’s done with touring and will stick to one-off shows in the future.

“I don’t think I’m going to tour anymore. I’m just going to fly out to a show here or there. I’ll maybe be down to do some one-offs. But I just don’t see myself getting on a tour bus anymore.”
