Listen to Def Jam Recordings’ Holiday Album ‘Def the Halls’

Def Jam Recordings and 4th & Broadway Records have teamed up to release a new holiday compilation album, Def the Halls. It follows the 2019 seasonal effort A Def Jam Christmas.

Featuring established names and emergents from both rosters, Def the Halls is a 16-song album stacked with original songs, such as Jhené Aiko’s previously released “Wrap Me Up.” Initially released on Soundcloud in 2012, Aiko gave the former track a visual reference last December.

In September, Aiko’s sophomore album, Trip, was awarded a platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. The LP has sold over one million equivalent units since Sept. 22, 2017.

DaniLeigh joins forces with rising star Kendra Jae for “BBC,” where they run down expensive gifts Santa should put under their tree.

Earlier this month, DaniLeigh wrapped her first headlining tour, 4 Velour Tour. It supported her EP My Side

Jai’Len Josey, who co-wrote Ari Lennox’s “Pressure,” gets on the naughty list with “A Hoe’s Christmas.”

Def the Halls includes holiday standards, such as “Silent Night” (AUGUST 08) and “Silver Bells” (Coco Jones). Both acts have recent R&B-centric material.

AUGUST08 shared his debut album Seasick in August, while Jones just premiered “ICU.” Her new song will appear on her upcoming debut EP, What I Didn’t Tell You, out Nov. 4.

Following her new EP, The Missing Peace, Mikhala Jené reimagines two holiday favorites, including Donny Hathaway’s “This Christmas” and “Please Come Home For Christmas” by blues singer and pianist Charles Brown.

Other guest appearances include Alessia Cara, Trinidad Cardona, OHNO, Bry Bee and many more.
