Destin Conrad Releases New EP ‘Satin’

A year after releasing his debut EP, Colorway, Destin Conrad has returned with his new EP, Satin

The nine-track effort includes the lead single “Unpredictable” featuring Kiana Ledé, plus the follow-up track “Day Party.” Ambré contributed vocals and co-production on the latter, which Louie Lastic also helped produce.

Satin’s club-friendly opener, “On 10,” offers a megamix of noodling, warm horns, and loping drums as Conrad looks to meet a friend on the dance floor for an illuminating night.

On “It’s Yours,” Conrad leans into straight-up R&B, stepping into a romantic savior role to an entangled lover he cannot help but spoil. Meanwhile, the smoothly flowing “Nobody Knows” has a sneaky link vibe.

Rising artist Jean Deaux makes a guest appearance on the title track, a distinctive homage to the 2000s R&B.

Kehlani, who Conrad supported on the Blue Water Road Trip Tour, co-wrote “Down Bad.”

As noted above, Satin is the follow-up to Conrad’s 2021 EP Colorway.

Since then, Conrad has racked up recognition as a featured artist, working with Duckwrth, Phabo, Mack Keane and ESTA, and most recently, Dylan Sinclair. He joined the latter Canadian act for “Open (Remix),” on which Jvck James also appeared.

Moreover, Conrad toured with Syd and Kehlani earlier this year and recently lent vocals to Masego’s new song “Say You Want Me.”
