Summer Walker Announces New EP ‘Clear 2: Soft Life’

Summer Walker has announced her new EP CLEAR 2: Soft Life will arrive May 19 via LVRN/Interscope Records.

Walker shared the news toward the end of her set at Dreamville Festival in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Sunday night.

CLEAR 2 is the sequel to Walker’s 2019 EP, CLEAR. The featureless, four-track project consisted of all acoustic songs. CLEAR was released three months after her debut project, Last Day of Summer

“This is how I be looking when I’m writing these songs lol,” Walker wrote in a since-deleted Instagram caption for CLEAR. “I don’t really like to get personal on here ’cause I feel like y’all can get to know me more through the music.”

CLEAR 2 will mark Walker’s first project since her 2021 sophomore album, Still Over It. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 166,000 equivalent units sold. The album’s tracks garnered 201.1 million on-demand streams, becoming the largest streaming week for an R&B album by a woman in history.

Eighteen songs from Still Over It debuted on the Hot 100, including “No Love” featuring SZA (No. 13), “Bitter” with Cardi B (No. 25), “Ex For A Reason” featuring JT (No. 33), “Throw It Away” (No. 41) and “Unloyal” featuring Ari Lennox (No. 48).

Walker recently teamed with her LVRN labelmate Alex Vaughn on her “So Be It (Remix)” from her project, The Hurtbook: (Homegirl Pack)

On May 6, Walker will perform at Lovers & Friends Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada. Then, on May 13, Walker will grace the main stage at Mary J. Blige’s Strength of a Woman Festival in Atlanta, Georgia.
