- You’ve got a unique musical background coming from St. Maarten and Curacao. How did growing up in the Caribbean influence your sound and performance style?I was raised surrounded by diverse musicians and an eclectic mix of genres—rock, blues, reggae, jazz, and Caribbean sounds. Each of these styles has left a lasting impact on my life and continues to shape my musical expression today.
- What first inspired you to pursue music, and when did you realize it could become a full-time career? With musician parents, I was fortunate to grow up constantly immersed in music—a feeling truly unmatched. While I explored many career options during school, music was always my first and foremost passion.
- You perform over 300 shows a year—what drives that kind of dedication and energy?What truly satisfies me is witnessing the energy and joy people radiate after my performance. Unlike many artists, I don’t follow a fixed set-list—I like to vibe with the audience in the moment. This keeps me completely connected and lets me pick each song deliberately, crafting a one-of-a-kind experience every time.
- Your track “Dreams Come True” is a reimagining of Pachelbel’s Canon in D. What inspired you to reinterpret such a classical piece into a modern wedding anthem?My producer, Joel Diamond, believed in me more than I ever believed in myself. When he first pitched the idea of turning this classic wedding theme into a song with lyrics, I wasn’t sure what to make of it. But the moment we started recording, I could feel it—we had something truly special.
- The song has organically taken off, now dubbed the “#1 Most Requested Wedding Song” on YouTube. What was your reaction when you realized it had struck such a chord with couples around the world?It was amazing to think that people around the world were already using ‘Dreams Come True’ as their wedding song, and I knew I could take it to a new level with my own style.
- Can you tell us more about the creative process of working with Grammy-nominated producer Joel Diamond? How did that collaboration come about?It was Super Bowl Sunday, and he called me five times. I didn’t answer—not once. Eventually, I had to stop the phone from ringing just to get some peace. But then I realized—this wasn’t just anyone. This was a serious phone call from a multi-platinum record producer who wanted to sign me. He was so persistent that I finally just gave in and said, ‘OK, you win.’
- How did your viral TikTok moment with “Tennessee Whiskey” change your trajectory? Did you expect that kind of response?That response completely caught me off guard. It was just an ordinary night and I was simply out for a walk, just letting my dinner settle.
- You’re known as a “one-man party” in the wedding circuit. What do you think makes your performances so memorable for couples on their big day?I never perform with a fixed set-list—I always let the energy in the room guide me. Whether it’s a night for couples or just a regular party crowd, the key to a great performance is tuning into the vibe and responding to it in the moment.
- What has been the biggest challenge in navigating this new wave of success?The main challenge has been maintaining self-confidence and delivering my best performance, whether I am performing for just one person or hundreds of people.
