Jonathan Joss, Voice of John Redcorn on King of the Hill, Shot and Killed by Neighbor

Jonathan Joss, best known for voicing John Redcorn across 12 seasons of King of the Hill, was shot and killed by his neighbor in San Antonio on Sunday. He was 59 years old.

According to TMZ, Sigfredo Alvarez-Cega was arrested and charged with murder after allegedly engaging in a heated argument with Joss before firing multiple shots. Police say Alvarez-Cega fled the scene but was apprehended a block away. Update: According to Joss’ husband, he was the victim of a hate crime.

Paramedics attempted to administer medical aid, but Joss was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

Joss voiced Redcorn on King of the Hill from seasons 2 to 13, and had recorded lines for the series’ upcoming revival set to air on Hulu this summer.

He also notably played Chief Ken Hotate on the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation.
