Just days after premiering her new single “2:35 (I Want You),” Ashanti follows up with a supporting video.
In the JaQuel Knight-directed visual, Ashanti makes a late-night stop at her man’s house. She arrives at his spot wearing a leather trench coat before unveiling her sexy lingerie. The R&B vet makes her way upstairs, where she seductively dances for her leading man (played by Gabriel Brunot). In between shots, we see glamorous close-ups of the Grammy-winning singer.
Ashanti released “2:35 (I Want You)” moments after her Verzuz battle with Keyshia Cole. According to Verzuz, Ashanti and Keyshia’s battle garnered more than 8 million viewers across multiple platforms, including Instagram and Apple Music.
“2:35 (I Want You)” is Ashanti’s first song to release since her 2019 track “Pretty Little Thing” with Afro B. In 2014, she released her fifth studio album Braveheart. At this time, Ashanti hasn’t announced a new forthcoming project.
