Rising singer-songwriter Canjelae recruits rapper and fellow songwriting force TK Kravitz for her new song “Wordplay.”
Composed by Canjelae and Kravitz, “Wordplay” is a sultry jam that highlights the bedroom experiences of both artists in full expose.
“If I came in at 3 o’clock in the morning / Would you be ready when I hopped on it / Put you to sleep like melatonin / If you gon’ slide let’s keep it rollin,” she sings on the opening verse.
Speaking on her new single, Canjelae tells Rated R&B, “When writing the record TK and I wanted to create a conversation that was really relatable but was fun and a vibe musically. And that conversation was, ‘Can you handle my lifestyle and the kind of person I am? Would we click for the long haul?’”
“Wordplay” is the first release from Canjelae in 2021 and follows her debut EP Cave Covers, released back in 2019.
