Brent Faiyaz and Tyler, the Creator Share New Song ‘Gravity’

DMV-phenom Brent Faiyaz is not missing any shots these days. The elusive crooner and DJ Dahi dropped their highly-anticipated single “Gravity” featuring rapper Tyler, The Creator.

“Gravity” is a midtempo jam that is very guitar-heavy, thanks to Steve Lacy’s musicianship. The track caters to both Faiyaz and Tyler, The Creator’s distinct musical aesthetics.

Lyrically, the track discusses the nature of a nonreciprocal relationship between a girl and a rising star.

“You held me up when I was down and out / But I don’t want you waitin’ ’round for me (She hold me down) / I don’t want you waitin’ too long (She hold me down),” Faiyaz declares on the song’s opening chorus.

“Gravity” is Faiyaz’s first single of 2021 following a slew of releases in 2020 including “Dead Man Walking” and the fan-favorite EP F**k the World.

Both “Gravity” and “Dead Man Walking” are linked to Faiyaz’s forthcoming project. The project currently does not have a release date.
