Ewan McGregor returns to his role as Kenobi. The limited series takes place 10 years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. In the film, his Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen), succumbs to the dark side.

McGregor teased in an interview with Forbes that he and Christensen got to do scenes together again as Kenobi and Skywalker. In addition, Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse, who play Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru in the final installment of the prequel trilogy, are also set to return.

Deborah Chow described the plot of the series in a featurette on the Disney+ site. She said (as transcribed by Collider) it’s “quite a dark time that we’re coming into with him. Just being a Jedi, it’s not safe. There’s Jedi hunters out there.” McGregor added that Kenobi “has one task left: to keep Luke safe.”
