Classic Metallica fans and Cliff Burton stans, get ready to celebrate the 6th annual Cliff Burton Day, made official by his home town of Castro Valley, and his home county, Alameda County.
Limited-edition shirts for the event are on-sale now, with 100% of the proceeds going to support the Cliff Burton Music Scholarship awarded by The Cliff Burton Family. Get shirts in the U.S. here and outside of the U.S. here.
This year’s festivities will be celebrated by host Nicholas Gomez, who will invite Cliff’s family and friends to speak about memories and their love for Cliff.
Interviews include: Connie Burton, Lou Martin, Flemming Rasmussen of Sweet Silence Studios, Mike Overton of Trauma, John Gallagher of Raven, Deen Dell of Vio-Lence, Brian Lew and Harald Oimoen from the movie/ book Murder in the Front Row, Photographer Gene Ambo, Castro Valley home town friends Joe Cabral, Judd of Judd’s Barn, and Tony Martin.
This year would have been Cliff’s 61st birthday, and fans and friends alike are rallying together to share these memories and learn more about the beloved musician.
The actual festivities will be February 10 at 7 p.m. PST, 10 p.m. EST, but there is too much Cliff love to be contained in one broadcast, so check back here every Friday this month for more exclusive interviews.
