Listen to Luther Vandross’ ‘Live at Radio City Music Hall – 2003 (Expanded 20th Anniversary Edition – The Last Concert)’

This fall marks the 20th anniversary of Luther Vandross: Live at Radio Music Hall 2003. Legacy Recordings and J Records celebrate its greatness with Live at Radio City Music Hall – 2003 (Expanded 20th Anniversary Edition – The Last Concert), available now digitally and on streaming platforms.

This new live album features Vandross’ entire concert at Radio City Music Hall sequenced chronologically. It features his on-stage banter in between songs.

One standout includes Vandross quoting lyrics from Missy Elliott’s 2002 banger “Work It” before he went into his Grammy-winning single “Here and Now.”

Elliott reacted on Twitter to Vandross reciting her Grammy-nominated song, writing, “Yoooooo I never heard this… that’s big.”

Additionally, the 20th-anniversary edition also includes four bonus tracks, including “Power of Love / Love Power,” “Going Out Of My Head,” “Any Day Now” and “Say It Now.”

The former chart-topping track now opens the record. It previously started with “Never Too Much,” the first single from his 1981 album of the same name.

Vandross released Luther Vandross: Live at Radio Music Hall 2003 on Oct. 14, 2003. It debuted at No. 22 on the Billboard 200 chart the week that ended Nov. 15, 2003. It also peaked at No. 6 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart that same week.

Before Vandross passed away in April 2005, he released his final studio album Dance with My Father. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 442,000 in the first week. It marked his largest opening week sales and his first album to open atop the main albums chart.

The title track of Dance with My Father won Vandross two Grammys, including Song of the Year and Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. The album also took home Best R&B Album.
