Jeff Bradshaw introduces two new singles ahead of his fifth studio album + ThisIsRnB exclusive interview with Bradshaw and Eric Roberson

Philadelphia native with deep South Carolina soul roots, world-renowned Trombonist Jeff Bradshaw readies the celebration of the 20th Anniversary coinciding with the release of his first studio album.

The prolific recording artist and multi-instrumentalist Jeff Bradshaw is back with a major compilation of what promises to be soul-stirring and spirit-lifting with the horn section lighting up the world as the trombone takes center stage.

The album  “JEFF BRADSHAW: 20” releases globally on June 23rd, via the Music Matters Entertainment/SRG-ILS Group label imprint. Bradshaw offered two official singles from his album on May 19th, ahead of its release.

There’s nothing more exciting than watching and hearing the leader of the band on the big trombone. And if you’ve never witnessed a homegrown Southern “Soul” straight out of his momma’s kitchen, then you’re in for an absolute treat. Bradshaw passes on a gift with this new project for generations that have not experienced the flow of the “bone” the big trombone as only he can. They may not understand it at first, but over time they will- just keep listening.

On his first offering, Bradshaw serves up a smooth jazz-infused, single titled  “Carrie’s Bread Puddin,” which is what Bradshaw calls a “southern church, hip-hop, D’Angelo swag” style song, honoring his mother’s life and her famous bread pudding.

This song is dedicated to the most amazing person in the world! A church-going, South Carolina-raised, wife and mother of 3, who picked cotton, and beat all the odds because of her Love for God and family! Her famous Bread Pudding that I was raised on, that she still makes weekly for her church, is still as amazing as it was when I was A child!” he shares.

The story of making time for love and self is the central theme of Bradshaw’s second serve, “Make Some Time” featuring Eric Roberson.  Bradshaw hypnotically plays the trombone on the track, while Roberson delivers a soulful vocal performance that instantly captivates the listener.

Speaking about the single Bradshaw shares “The song is inspired by people who hustle wanting to date people who hustle. We’re all busy, but make sure you carve out some time for yourself. While you’re at it, carve out some time for us.”

Bradshaw is confident that listeners will still experience his music with the same unique sense of wonder as when they first heard him. “20 years man. It means to me, blessed, relevant, excited, young, and hungry. All those things I still am. excited about the music and excited for people to hear it. I’m still going to create these beautiful songs and the trombone is going to play a different role in every song,” he says.

As part of our exclusive opportunity, ThisIsRnB had the pleasure of being on set with Bradshaw and Roberson during the filming of the “Make Some Time” video as well as interviewing these two dynamic powerhouses.

Bradshaw discussed the meaning behind the title of his highly anticipated forthcoming album ” Jeff Bradshaw: 20,” and how it’s a culmination of his impressive body of work. He speaks on being a unicorn bringing forth and melding soul music, r&b, gospel, jazz, and hip-hop keeping his music relevant all these years. Both Bradshaw and Roberson speak on the lead single “Make Some Time” and the importance for all of us to “make some time for you, for me, for us,” and so much more.

Each song from his album has a unique story behind it, listeners will feel the movie soundtrack of Jeff Bradshaw’s life from his early days playing in church to the 20 years of releasing music, his present-day life touring with artists such as Patti Labelle, and everything in between.

In addition to the Roberson feature, the album “Jeff Bradshaw: 20” will include guest artists Raheem DeVaughn,  B. Slade, and many more.
