Lupe Fiasco has his “Cake” and is eating too on his latest single. It has now arrived with its music video.
Over Soundtrakk and Kush Baby’s head-nodding instrumental, the Chicago lyricist brings a plethora of metaphoric bars and tops it off with a melodic hook from the set of the video shoot.
“This shit taste like winter / Chocolate cake for dinner / Birthday cake for breakfast, slice it like a ninja / Pick up all the pieces, assemble like Avenger / Authoring is August, wordplay is December.”
“Cake” is the second single following “Samurai” off his forthcoming ninth studio album, Samurai, which is due June 28.
