The recently reunited Karate have announced their first new album in 20 years. The follow-up to 2004’s Pockets is titled Make It Fit and arrives October 18 via Numero Group. The Boston jazz-rock group have also shared two new songs from that record: “Defendants” and “Silence, Sound.” Listen to those tracks below.

All 10 songs on Make It Fit were mixed by longtime collaborator Andy Hong. After reuniting in 2022 to ring in a series of reissues on Numero Group, Karate realized they “had more to say” and set about writing a new record.

With this news, Karate will head back out on the road to perform music from their new album and old LPs alike. In addition to their upcoming United Kingdom tour, the band will perform at the inaugural Best Friends Forever Festival in Las Vegas alongside the likes of Sunny Day Real Estate, Bright Eyes, and the Dismemberment Plan.
