Fresh off his Vampire Weekend reinterpretation “2021 (In the Space Between Two Pieces of Wood),” Los Angeles musician and producer Sam Gendel has announced a new album: Fresh Bread is out February 26 via Leaving.
The 52-track, genre-spanning album includes solo work from Gendel, as well as contributions from players like Daniel Aged, Carlos Niño, Jamire Williams, Gabe Noel, and Philippe Melanson. Listen to the record’s “Eternal Loop” below.
Last year, Sam Gendel released Satin Doll and DRM. Revisit Pitchfork’s 2016 Rising feature on Gendel’s band Inga, “Outsider Jazz for Modern Times.”
