Smokin Grooves Returned to L.A. Southern California’s State Historic Park with Headliner Erykah Badu and a super lineup of Artists

This past weekend “Smokin Grooves” made its return to the L.A. State Historic Park in Southern California with headliner Erykah Badu and included an amazing line-up of artists. The event featured two stages of acts  from R&B, Jazz, Soul and Hip-hop all doing their thing.   There were artists performances for every age and genre such; The Roots Nas, Thundercat, Kamasi Washington, Bilal, Jhene Aiko, Miguel, Angie sone, Macy Gray, Leelah James, India.Arie, Roys Aryes and so many more.

While there were a few minor snags and hiccupps, even having to cut some of the artists time down including Erykah Badu’s,  overall it was just incredible to see so many acts on one show-bill. The artist bought the energy to the stages, and those in attendance were in a ‘good vibes only mindset’.

ThisIsRnB was onsite and captured a glimpse of all the excitement of the day with one of our photojournalist, Chris Owtlaw.

Take a look at a few of the photos below and you’ll feel the energy of the artists through them.
