Exclusive Interview with Kendra & The Bunnies

Hello! Thank you for speaking with me today!

Thanks for inviting me to interview!

You just released your single, are releasing a video, and then an album! Congrats! What should we know about it?

This album has creatively been in the works for about 2 years now. I came up with the idea to do an album inspired by summer love, vintage folk rock tones, and backbeat 1990’s hip-hop. The title of the full album is “of Consideration”. It is 15 tracks that were heavily inspired by artists: A Tribe Called Quest, Radiohead, STS9, Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, and Neil Young. I can happily say that I think the project reflects this wonderfully.

If you could describe the album in one word, what would it be?

Acid-Wash

How does it feel to watch your hard work start to pay off?

Wow! Thanks for asking. It is more of a relief than anything. Music and artistry is my everything.

I breathe philosophical thoughts that lead to introspection that lead to prose, lyrics, film ideas.

It’s like my inner-monologue running in my head can start to rest now that I am showcasing it through my music.

What has been your favorite part of this whole process?

Being in the studio! It is so electric to record in a studio where so many famous greats have too. In-fact, a lot of my influences have literally been in the same place on their artist journeys as me: Tupac, Cake, Kanye West, Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, STS9, and Neil Young have all recorded in Hyde Street Studios. So surreal that some years later I am in the same studio where my influences’ music was made.

Are you doing anything fun to celebrate?

Definitely! My new music video debuted this week here: https://youtu.be/xm6B7zopUQ0

I will also be doing a live performance on Girls on the Air Radio, KVTA 1590 AM based in Ventura Country on Saturday, May 29 at 11:00 am PT!

You have obviously been very busy, how do you recharge?

My best way to re-charge is to meditate, go for nature walks, sleep, and listen to relaxing music. Jamming out on my guitar recharges me quite a bit too, which is amazing, because it’s also my career.

What is your advice for any fans thinking about stepping into the industry?

It takes a lot of effort, time, self-motivation, and belief in self. It shows you how much you want it. If you are interested in personal coaching and music mentorship, you can book me on my website: https://www.kendraandthebunnies.com/shop
