Exclusive Interview with HYBRED

Hello! Thank you for speaking with me today!

Thank you so much for having us.

You recently released your debut EP ‘Magnum’! Will you tell us a bit about it?

Yes, of course. We’re very proud of our first project. We went into the creating process just wanting to make good music. We wanted to make something that was authentic to who we are but also music that any human being could relate to. We didn’t even imagine that it would debut at #9 on iTunes R&B/Soul Chart.

What was the song writing process for it?

Our writing process initially starts with free-styling different melodies over beats that either Kendrick has made or beats that we’ve found online. After we found a melody that we loved for a song we would then begin to think of words or topics that we want the song to be about. Then the rest is history!

Who are some of your biggest musical influences?

We are inspired by a variety of artists such as OutKast, Bone Thugz N Harmony, Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Foxy Brown, Notorious B.I.G., and many more. We think it is important to study the greats before us and apply what we love from each of them in our own art.

Who would be a dream collaboration for you?

A dream collaboration for us would definitely have to be with Beyonce and Nicki Minaj.

Do you have a mantra or piece of advice you carry with you that you like to pass on to other musicians?

Authenticity is key. If you go through life being authentically you no one can stop you!

Any other upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for?

We are currently on tour and will be releasing a full tour documentary in the near future.

Please let everyone know where they can keep up with you and your music!
