Are you making any rounds with testing out new music on the road?
Absolutely! Most of my live set right now is unreleased music. I’ve been able to test it out by opening for Snoop Dogg, Ubbi Dubbi, and playing all around Nashville.
What stories do you want to tell in your upcoming music?
I really want to empower women and write some hard-hitting edgy songs, but I also want to explore the concept of anxiety and depression in my music. I experience those, so I want people to know they aren’t alone and build a connection.
Are there any rules you set for yourself when you know you have to concentrate on making music?
I use this forest app on my phone that helps me stay off of it so I can focus!
Do you ever feel like you need to label yourself as an artist?
I’ve labeled myself as an artist for a very long time, it is definitely a lifestyle.
Is letting the work talk for itself a rule of thumb for you?
I definitely like it to talk for itself, but I also know the importance of promotion.
What are the interactions with your fans like when you hear feedback from them about your music?
Great! I would say I have mainly positive interactions with people about my music which is great.
What is a golden rule in music that you will always uphold?
To be honest and make what I want to make, not what I think people want.
What’s it like moving forward after a song release?
It’s a unique feeling. It’s great to have it out in the world, but also nerve-wracking. Moving on from it can be bittersweet.
