Excusive Interview with AJ Raggs

We are talking about all things music with AJ Raggs today! Excited to chat with you. You have a new single coming soon – what can you share with us on what to expect from you with the new release?

Very excited to chat with you, as well!! This song is one of my favorites I’ve been a part of. I’m super grateful to my co-writer Carrie Cunningham, for the idea!! The song is called “We Were the Band” and it’ll be available everywhere on March 19th! It’s about a love with an energy so infectious, it makes life feel like a constant party!

Why did you choose to lead with this single?

I have a couple of new singles in the pipeline that I’m pretty excited about, so it was definitely difficult to make a decision on which one to put first, but after much thought and prayer, I decided this would be a good fit. It’s super high energy, and I’d love people to have that first impression of my music.

What do you want listeners to take away or feel after listening to your latest release?

I want them to feel excited, and energized! I’m hoping it’ll make them want to dance. But most of all, I want them to feel loved. Because they are!!

2022 is flying by us, do you have any career goals for yourself this year? Would you be willing to share some?

This year will find me making the move from Pittsburgh to Nashville. It’s a super big leap, but I know I’m supposed to be there. God put it in my heart, and I’m finally ready for it! I’m also gonna try to release as much music as I can. It’s gonna be a lot of hard work, but I’m praying it’ll pay off.

Tell us your favorite things about making music.

I’m so glad you didn’t make me pick just one! Haha. I think though if I had to pick one I’d say the connections with the people I’m blessed to work with. That is my favorite part. Sometimes, we don’t even get a full song written in a session because we end up talking so much. But that’s ok. It’s not a waste of time, because it’s building a relationship. The better the relationship is, I believe the stronger the song will be.

Another favorite is recording. It’s such a gift to be able to see what you’ve put on paper, what you’ve put in voice memos with a guitar and a scratchy voice come together into a final product. It’s quite exciting.

Being able to perform your own songs live is also awesome. The best is, though, when the audience sings along with you. That’s the dream.

Where can we find you on socials to keep up with your journey and get our hands on your new music?

You can follow me @ajraggs on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, Twitter and practically everywhere! And be on the lookout for “We Were the Band!” Everywhere, March 19! Thanks for talking with me!!
