Singer/Songwriter Hannyta Releases New Single

Singer/Songwriter, Hannyta is set to release a remixed version of her song, “17.” The Houson Boombox mix gives what is originally a Contemporary Pop song with a Country seasoning, the EDM treatment. It’s not entirely clear the exact purpose of this rendering, aside from just because. What we get is a commendable effort from Hannyta and her studio team. This mix doesn’t rest on any laurels, and truly reimagines the original recording.

Although she’s quite young, Hannyta is not only a decorated musician, but a cultured traveler. Born in Hungary and raised in Scotland, she currently resides in Great Britain. Though she is established at this point, there isn’t much more background on Hannyta, other than her geographic origins. It’s quite likely that not much exists, as Hannyta is in the infancy of not only her career, but life as well. What’s truly important is her Music, and that is not lacking in credibility, whatsoever.

It’s not always easy to understand love/when you’re 17. With a backdrop of electronic fireworks, there’s at least of modicum of profundity in what Hannyta is saying on “17.” Her heart’s been dashed, as she tries make sense out of something that isn’t really meant to be rationalized; love. It’s something of an odd dichotomy, that being the sound on this remix and the lyrical content. It’s a juxtaposition that somehow succeeds in my view, though.

The sound quality on “17,” the remix is like liquid butter, and Hannyta’s vocals are blended in seamlessly. It’s like a gentle wall of sound, with pulsating anticipation and echo waves of vocal grace. In some ways, this version actually suits Hannyta and the track a bit more sufficiently, but in others it feels like an expert makeup job. You find yourself submitting to the track’s lack of insistence, and become simultaneously, captivated and soothed. It’s a bit like experiencing a moment of existential ecstasy, via a Pop Song.

The mix is truly with few flaws. Lyrically, Hannyta hasn’t yet reached the depth that she eventually will. It makes the narrative a little more difficult to identify with for anyone over 25. Nevertheless, you can still lose yourself for nearly the entire 4 minute length, and have few regrets in doing so. That said, the song is a bit longer than the ideal length of a single, but it is a remix after all.

Hannyta is an amalgam of many things both as an artist and as a person, and she is still putting that identity together. Just going from the original version of “17,” to the Houson remix, gives you an idea of the range we are dealing with here. This track will almost definitely make you interested in exploring more of her discography, namely the original version to start. Hannyta is somewhat enigmatic without any effort, and that probably won’t last long. So it’s highly recommended that you celebrate the wonderment of being 17 with Hannyta on this fantastic remix, as she prepares to move onto bigger and better things.
