With a sound that draws inspiration from punk rock, heavy metal, hip hop, and electronic music, DJ Zombie’s experimental tracks have been released on various platforms, including Soundcloud, Spotify, Band Camp, and iTunes.

While some may find DJ Zombie’s music challenging to listen to, it’s clear that his creations are anything but mainstream. His early works, such as “Video Junkie Zombie,” “Grand Theft Zombie,” and “Darth Travis,” are a mix of harsh video game noise sounds from Atari, Nintendo Gameboy, and Nintendo consoles mashed together. Over time, DJ Zombie’s style has evolved to include elements of house, club, rave, industrial, hip hop, and hipster bangers.

An inimitable talent, DJ Zombie has covered songs from Metallica, Rammstein, Slayer, and other bands, some of which are available online, his focus is on creating new, enjoyable, and listenable tracks. He is also keen to collaborate with other artists and creatives to create cool new bass music.

DJ Zombie’s influences range from early 1980s pop music, Michael Jackson, Prince, and Billy Idol to David Bowie, Vincent Price, Bela Lugosi, Rob Zombie, Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Cannibal Corpse, and Skinny Puppy. He has also been inspired by My life With The Thrill Kill Cult, Prodigy, Moby, DJ Mudwulf, AcidBat, and STS9.

Some of DJ Zombie’s standout tracks include “Haunted House,” “Pick Me Up,” “Nasty Birds,” “Yigh,” and “Time 2 Go,” which cross over from electronic to rock to dubstep. Despite not having any written lyrics, DJ Zombie’s music transcends space, time, and borders of all kinds.

While there may be other DJs and rappers with similar names, DJ Zombie embraces the community of “zombies” in the music industry. His music represents a celebration of life and fun, even from the other side of what we know as existence, the afterlife, and reality. DJ Zombie’s message is one of unity and support, reminding us that “1 Zombie supports another!”

ABOUT

DJ Zombie, born in 1976 in Denver, Colorado, is an artist with a unique and diverse background. Starting as a graffiti tagger known as Zombie, he later became a mural artist and military photographer. However, his passion for music led him to become an electronic music artist and an undead DJ.

Zombie’s artistic journey has taken him to many places, from the Colfax gutters outside of the Ogden theater to the shores of Seattle, Tokyo, LA, and Australia. He has left his mark on walls with his spray paint art and has now transitioned to glitchy, noisy, bass beats, which are best suited for the undead.
