Nashville, TN —June 24th, 2023 – Taking audiences by surprise with their enchanting, evocative, and smooth musical compositions, Midtown Jazz Quartet is a highly skilled collective of musicians formed out of an ensemble at the esteemed Nashville Jazz Workshop.

With their latest release, ‘Voyage,’ the eclectic artist display a collection of Jazz standards, two original compositions, and four mesmerising vocal performances. Notably, one of the artist’s standout tracks, “Ev’ry Now and Then,” features lyrics by the renowned Marilyn and Alan Bergman and has only been recorded once before.

Midtown Jazz Quartet’s album, ‘Voyage,’ is available for audiences on all major platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Pandora. The band invites audiences to find themselves once again through their striking and soulful melodies and rhythms that define this exceptional jazz experience.

The Midtown Jazz Quartet comprises a talented ensemble of musicians, each bringing their exceptional expertise to the table: Michael Morton – Flute Michael’s journey in jazz began at the prestigious Berklee College of Music under the tutelage of Peter Gordon and Matt Marvuglio. The artist has had the privilege of performing for icons like Spike Lee, Placido Domingo, and Whitney Houston.

Similarly, the band’s pianist Steve King has had two decades of experience in the vibrant Nashville music scene. As a pianist and keyboardist, he has collaborated with forces such as Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, and Kelly Clarkson. Steve’s dynamism and expertise was displayed best on the stage of the prestigious 54th Grammy Awards in 2012.

Gus Duffy, on the other hand, is the band’s drummer, whose love affair with Jazz began at an early age. Balancing music and architecture studies, the artist pursued a successful career in both fields. As a professional drummer, he adheres to the wisdom of master drummer and educator Matt Wilson: “learn a lot of songs, and learn to play quietly.”

The band is completed with the talents of bassist, Gary J. Smith whose musical journey began when he first picked up the old Kay bass at his church. Classically trained, Gary has ventured into various musical styles, including bluegrass, jazz, and American roots music. The artist is also a member of the acclaimed bluegrass band, The Dillards. When he’s not captivating audiences with his bass skills, Gary serves as a family physician in Nashville.

Experience the enchanting melodies and impeccable artistry that the Midtown Jazz Quartet bring with their newest record- ‘’Voyage” and fall in love with contemporary jazz all over again.
