Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom —
Now based in Nottingham, via the unlikely route of Nigeria and Greece, Victoria Hoffman’s new single, Hallelujah, is released on 15th of December and captures her gospel style and confessional lyrics. Having only started writing songs in 2018, Hallelujah is her 5th single and comes ahead of a proposed debut album release in the Summer 2024. Hallelujah will be available on all online platforms including Spotify and iTunes.
Being relatively new to the art of Songwriting, this particular composition marks my inaugural venture into crafting a gospel-inspired melody. It stands apart from my previous releases, showcasing a distinct divergence in style. This song holds immense personal significance, for it encapsulates the profound spiritual growth I have experienced throughout this year, a direct result of the trials I have faced. It serves as a joyous ode to the festive season, commemorating the birth of Jesus, and radiates an uplifting aura.
Having been born in Nigeria, Victoria grew up in Greece before moving to her current home in Nottinghamshire. Though her family were all based in the field of medicine, she was determined to become a singer songwriter, a choice which whilst met with amusement found more barbed criticism online, where she was criticised for making music in such a wide variety of genres, not what they saw as more fitting for a black musician – R&B or Soul. These prejudices have only helped to fuel her desire to make the music SHE wants to make, the latest being Hallelujah , which Victoria explained is a song which means a lot to her on a personal level.
Hallelujah, a jubilant melody, resonates with the joyous spirit of Christmas, embracing the uplifting essence of Gospel music.
