Authentic, moving, and transcendental, Tommy Chappell’s timeless new album “Seven Eleven” is one for the times
west babylon, NY —–‘Seven Eleven’- released on November 7, 2023- marks Tommy’s fourth indie album release, following a collaborative trilogy with his late wife and musical partner, Trish Chappell. Tragically, Trish succumbed to brain cancer in 2016, making this album a deeply personal and special dedication to her memory, fueled by her enduring spirit.
Featuring an ensemble of gifted musicians and singers, including Danny Kean, Debbie Knapper, Monet Dunham, Noret Bazemore, and Jerome Lee, ‘Seven Eleven’ captures the essence of Tommy’s musical influences—from the funky vibes of Sly Stone to the storytelling prowess of Bobby Womack and the genre-defying creativity of Prince.
Rooted in the eclectic genres of soul, R&B, and dance music, the album presents an energetic, funky, and inspirational exploration of life’s highs and lows. ‘Seven Eleven’ is a sonic voyage, seamlessly blending the soulful sounds of the seventies with a contemporary twist. Each track on the album carries the unmistakable mark of Tommy’s unique musical identity—unapologetic, uplifting, and pulsating with emotion.
With hit albums like “Sweet Like Honey,” “Something Good,” and “Don’t Let Go,” Tommy has consistently delivered music that resonates across audiences. Tommy’s intention is clear—to create a record that not only entertains but uplifts. With a musical style inspired by legends like Sly Stone, EWF, Prince, and more, Tommy’s storytelling and vocal delivery are nothing short of a revelation.
The album is a testament to Tommy’s belief that music should be a source of joy, the album exudes the “Trish effect”—a feel-good space that reverberates through every note.
Tommy’s extensive background as a musician, singer, songwriter, and producer is evident in the album’s rich textures and nuanced arrangements. His collaboration with esteemed director Joseph H. James Jr. resulted in three captivating videos for the album, adding a visual dimension to the auditory delight.
