Corrosion of Conformity Posts Impressive Studio Clip of Stanton Moore Laying Down Some Drums

It’s been no secret for a long time now that southern/stoner/crossover metal giants Corrosion of Conformity were working on their follow up to 2018’s No Cross No Crown. Various members have said as much in multiple interviews and we’ve even seen some behind the scenes footage from the studio. Everything points to new tunes from one of the more critically underrated bands out there. (At least in my opinion.)

So you can imagine my excitement when the dudes posted yet another clip of drummer Stanton Moore just going off on the drums. Ever since the unfortunate passing of drummer Reed Mullin, the Galactic drummer’s been linked with COC’s efforts for a new album. As you’d expect from Stanton, the clip below is just… wild.

Since the clip is taken inside the actual room that Moore’s playing in, you can’t hear whatever he’s listening to. And while it’s safe to assume that he’s listening to some of the new music in his headphones, we can’t exactly say it with any certainty that’s the case. So he could either be working on new music or just fucking around behind the kit. Either way, it sounds cool as hell.

The last time Moore was involved with COC, it was for the band’s 2005 release In The Arms of God. If you’ve never listened to that record, or you’ve never listened to the eclectic stylings of Galactic, then you need to change that immediately. A huge reason of why In The Arms of God is so good is because Moore grooves on that record. Go listen to that right now — I’ll wait.

So yeah. Hype levels are high and they can’t release new music soon enough.
