Could the Black Sabbath “final tour but not really a final tour” cycle be coming to the band’s McDonald’s parody, Mac Sabbath? Sure sounds like it, as they announced earlier today that they’ll be heading out on a run of dates to celebrate their 10 year anniversary.
Set to kick off on August 14 in Cheyenne, Wyoming and coming to a close in Omaha, Nebraska, the 14-date run will seemingly stick to the U.S. heartland, with stops in Colorado, Texas, Ohio, and Illinois to name a few.
“10 years? I guess you better come out and see this one! Sounds like the beginning of THE END!”
Coming along for the ride will be Tejon Street Corner Thieves and Spaceman Bob. You may or may not remember these guys, but they definitely came up around the same time that other parody acts were getting noticed, like Okilly Dokilly and Galactic Empire. Hell, Mac Sabbath even got the chance to play in front of Ozzy himself, which had to have been a trip.
Talking to some friends who’ve seen these guys live, it sounds like Mac Sabbath is a good, fun time. Is it the most serious thing in the world? No. Is it Black Sabbath music set to lyrics about Big Macs and milkshakes and all that other hyper addictive garbage we shovel into our gullets? Absolutely.
