Martha’s Vineyard Set To Host 22nd Annual Run&Shoot Filmworks African-American Film Festival August 2nd -10th

The 22nd Annual Run&Shoot Filmworks Martha’s Vineyard African-American Film Festival is an OSCAR® Qualifying Festival in the Short Film Category.

The festival is held on Martha’s Vineyard, an island off Cape Cod, Massachusetts, from August 2nd to the 10th. It is a global gathering of filmmakers, professionals, and film enthusiasts to celebrate the art of cinema. Filmgoers eager to see stimulating films, and captivating storytelling are drawn to the festival. 

Celebrities such as multi-award-winning artists Regina King, Viola Davis, and Spike Lee, Questlove, Jennifer Hudson, Tyler Perry, Kenya Bariss, and more have attended past editions of the Martha’s Vineyard African-American Film Festival, dubbed “Black Hollywood.”

On the opening night of the 20th-anniversary festival, former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama surprised attendees and presented their documentary Descendant.

This year’s film screenings will occur at the Martha Vineyard Performing Arts Center in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts.
