The Legendary Frankie Beverly Graces the Cover of ESSENCE Magazine July/August 2024

As ESSENCE gears up for the 30th celebration of the ESSENCE Festival of Culture™ presented by Coca-Cola®, to commemorate this milestone, the magazine is announcing *today* a cover featuring the legendary Frankie Beverly.

Beverly will grace the stage at the Festival of Culture one last time with a star-studded tribute performance of his greatest hits and a passing-the-torch moment to the next generation on Sunday, July 7th in New Orleans.

During the inception of the ESSENCE Festival of Culture™ presented by Coca-Cola®, Frankie Beverly and Maze began a longstanding tradition of closing out the event with a Sunday night performance and all-white party.

Since the anthem, “Before I Let Go”, made its musical debut on the legendary R&B group, Frankie Beverly and Maze’s “Live In New Orleans” album, it has been a thread in the cultural fabric of the Black community and the iconic festival.

As the 77-year R&B legend exits from live performances, he offers reflections on how his music has transcended generations in the latest magazine issue.

This new cover and cover story will grace the inside pages of ESSENCE’s July/August 2024 magazine issue on newsstands on June 25th, and will be a standalone cover exclusively available to subscribers starting today: HERE.
