Sabrina Carpenter stopped by the BBC Radio 1 lounge on Tuesday to perform her new song, “Please Please Please,” as well as a cover of Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!”
The performance went down earlier today, and featured a different arrangement than Chappell’s original. Sabrina Carpenter began the song in a country-fied arrangement, slowing down the first verse and chorus, adding pedal steel and acoustic guitar, and executing the track like a heartfelt ballad. However, when the second verse comes in, Carpenter revives Chappell Roan’s original tempo and keeps the rendition just as bright and bubbly. Listen to Carpenter’s rendition of “Good Luck, Babe!” below.
Carpenter is currently gearing up to release Short n’ Sweet, her sixth album and her second since signing to Island Records, on August 23rd. She previewed the album ahead of Coachella in April by releasing the infectious “Espresso” — which landed on our list of the best songs of 2024 so far — as well as this month’s “Please Please Please.”
