This year will mark the 30th anniversary of the ESSENCE Festival Of Culture  taking place in New Orleans from July 4-7, 2024, with the theme “We Love  Us.”

With an incredible lineup of musical artists, exciting conferences, exhibitions, fashion, beauty, food, Essence After Dark experience, and ESSENCE’s first-ever Festival closer, the Legend Frankie Beverly preps to retire from live performances, this promises to be one festival not to miss! 

In anticipation of the Festival,  New Orleans Gem and Dynamo Dawn Richard sits down for a conversation with ThisIsRnB host, Kadeja.

With six critically acclaimed full-length albums, multimedia artist, animator dancer, director, and entrepreneur, Dawn is a powerful creative force dedicated to preserving Louisiana Creole culture.

During the conversation, Dawn shared about performing at this year’s Essence Festival of Culture, her musical influences, creating her signature sound and music, her exciting latest album ‘Pigments,’ working with Danity Kane, and so much more.

Speaking of Essence Festival of Culture, Dawn will take the stage on Sunday, July 4th with the show hosted by Keke Palmer with headliners Janet Jackson and Victoria Monét.
