Winterfylleth Announce New Album The Imperious Horizon and Release New Single “Dishonor Enthroned”

Winterfylleth return with their follow-up to 2020’s The Reckoning Dawn. The new album, to be entitled The Imperious Horizon is due out on September 13, and yes that’s a Friday, so it comes out on a lucky Friday the 13th. Somehow that just seems even more metal. The band released the first single called “Dishonor Enthroned” with a video by Killian Monson for the seven-minute epic. This is one of the few bands with ridiculously grandiose names for everything that really earns the right to be grandiose. This song absolutely shreds.

The band say that the new album is a reflection of the chaos and upheaval in the world over the course of the past four years. In a statement reported on by Metal Injection, guitarist and vocalist C. Naughton had this to say:

“In some ways, the album is a reflection on the mania of the years since the last album, how the world has changed for the worse, and moreover how we all feel like we are living in a more divided and upheaved world ever since!”

The past four years have seen some wild changes from the pandemic to the rise of fascism to the release of like a dozen new Mountain Dew Flavors. Naughton went on to say:

“The title speaks to a looming sense of some dominant power or agenda that is coming, just over the horizon. It’s on its way, and we don’t know quite how it will manifest, but we know that it is creeping ever forward, and it is inevitable.”

Well that certainly sounds cheery and hopeful. Pre-orders for the new album are available here.
