Andra Day has unveiled the dates for her headlining Cherith Tour.
The North American trek begins Aug. 9 at Variety Playhouse in Atlanta. From there, the Grammy-winning singer will make stops in Washington, D.C., Toronto, Chicago, San Diego and more. The tour concludes Sep. 24 at The Showbox in Seattle.
Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday (June 21) at 10 a.m. local time.
Day’s upcoming tour will support her third album, Cassandra (cherith), released in May on Warner Records.
“Cassandra (cherith) is a journey through my soul, from a state of being already full rather than from a place of lack,” Day explained. “It’s an intimate reflection of my personal experiences and growth, presented through the language of music.”
Cassandra was preceded by the singles “Where Do We Go,” “Probably” and “Chasing.”
Regarding the latter track, Day explained, “It came from the idea that there are three sides to every story: There are two people involved, if we’re looking at it that way. There’s this side, there’s this person’s side, and there’s the truth. I hate hearing women called crazy. Especially by their partners, especially by men on social media, no offense.”
Cassandra (cherith) is the follow-up to 2021’s The United States vs. Billie Holiday (Music from the Motion Picture). The Grammy-winning soundtrack included the original song “Tigress & Tweed,” which Day wrote and produced with Raphael Saadiq.
