Lizzen Taps Robin Thicke, Keith Sweat, & Jacquees For Debut Album, ‘On The Bus

From the humble beginnings of writing songs in between her shifts as a bus driver, Lizzen has now emerged as a rising star in the R&B scene.  Yesterday, (6/27) she unveiled her highly-anticipated debut album, aptly titled On The Bus, featuring a stellar lineup of R&B superstars.

The Akron, Ohio, native began writing music on her daily bus route. In 2023, she blossomed throughout the R&B landscape with her buzzing tracks “Audacity” and “Care For You.” Her 90s R&B influence was fully displayed in the breakout hit “Why.”

“Why” is a motivational song about overcoming a toxic relationship after years of contemplation and rediscovering self-worth. Robin Thicke elevated the track in early 2024 with his signature vocals and persuasive lyrics.

The debut album, on Run-It-Up Records, is an eight-song collection that journeys through the emerging star’s emotions and love life. She matches her traditional R&B sound with legendary singers such as Keith Sweat on “Right & Wrong” and Jacquees on “Audacity.” The debut standout track, “Feelings (It’s Me),” is the perfect origin point for newfound fans as she displays her best yet.

In preparation for the debut release, Lizzen generated viral moments, including a song request by comedic sensation Kountry Wayne, receiving her flowers from Jacquees, and Robin Thicke performing her hit song during his From The Block performance.  Thicke and Lizzen’s collaboration has accumulated over 100,000 searches on Shazam.

According to Apple Music, On The Bus was among the top five R&B albums upon its release. Lizzen thanked her fans for the accolade on social media last week.
