Capulet Fest Cancels Third Day of Disastrous Festival Late the Night Before

Capulet Fest was already looking to be a shitshow on Friday when the heavy music festival changed venues at the last minute to a new venue that was more than an hour drive away from the venue that was originally announced for the festival and had less than 10% of the capacity. As bands started to drop off in droves, with the updates from bands offering more information than anything official coming out of the festival, the statement form the band Nothing More revealed a major flaw in the hastily rescheduled festival: the new venue was not available on Sunday, which was supposed to be the third day of the fest.

While many suspected that Sunday wouldn’t happen, the festival wasn’t forthcoming about their plans for the third day until the last possible minute. And yes, I mean the absolute last possible minute. In a statement on Facebook that was posted at 11:06 PM local time, the festival finally announced that Sunday would be canceled and refused to take anything resembling accountability for their colossal blunder, even as they were less than an hour short of announcing Sunday’s cancellation on Sunday itself. Here’s what their statement said:

“Sunday is no longer an option. We fought. We wrestled with obstacle after obstacle. We became a target. We became hated, even when we were doing our best to save something and give you the best show possible. No one sees the sacrifice. All they do is judge. We did everything we could. We hope you had fun. We did our best. Thank you to everyone who came out and had a blast. We hope you enjoyed the meet and greets. We hope you enjoyed the music. Goodbye.”

It would have gone a long way towards mending some of the festival’s damaged trust if they had come forward and accepted responsibility and apologized for the entire debacle, but instead Capulet seem to have taken the Donald Trump approach of doubling down on blaming everyone but themselves for their own mistakes. But unlike Trump, there doesn’t seem to be anyone believing the explanations that Capulet is offering.
