Fresh off his wins at the BET Awards, Killer Mike tones it down and shares a moment of clarity on his new single, “Humble Me”.
In the accompanying black-and-white visual, the Atlanta veteran opens up on his current mental state and addresses his arrest at the Grammys.
“I had to quiet my mind, I prayed and I prayed and I prayed,” he raps in reference to his time in jail. “The liars were lying their lies / I kept on just keeping my faith / The devil put me on this whipping post / The lord did not lie on there with me / So I went to sleep as free as can be and the next day my son got a kidney.”
On Sunday (June 30), Killer Mike won Best Album at the 2024 BET Awards for his highly-praised album, Michael.
