Ill Niño Release New Single Weeks Late With No Explanation for Delay

New Jersey Latin metal band Ill Niño were scheduled to release a new single called “Beast Inside” on June 21 and a new EP called IllMortals Vol 1 on June 29 and fans were bewildered when both dates passed without the scheduled releases. Was the “Beast Inside” not quite ready to come out yet? To make it weirder, the band have been actively posting on their Instagram about their current tour without any mention of the mysterious delay. Drummer Dave Chevarri even posted a tour update on Instagram and plugged the new single and EP without explaining why they weren’t out yet. The whole thing is really bizarre.

Well, some of the wait is now over, as the band finally released the new single yesterday. Well, sort of. The video is up on YouTube but, at the time of this writing, the song has yet to be posted on Spotify or Apple Music. The band announced the release of the new single on social media yesterday without even acknowledging the delay, leaving a lot of questions unanswered. Is it a publicity stunt? Did the single need some last-minute polish? Did the band get distracted by something shiny and forget to upload their single for a week and a half? Who knows?

IllMoratls Vol 2 was originally announced with a release date of July 26, but since IllMortals Vol 1 still hasn’t come out, there’s no telling when everything is actually going to be released. Delays happen, but to completely ignore them in the days of social media seems really strange. But, if the goal was to get everyone’s attention by being mysterious, then that’s certainly worked.
