Megan Thee Stallion on Collaborating With Victoria Monét: ‘It Was Long Overdue’

Megan Thee Stallion and Victoria Monét recently joined forces for “Spin” from the rapper’s new album, Megan.

The track, produced by xSDTRK and Akeel, hears Monét singing on the hook and bridge. “Is it real or fake? So? / Bet you still gon’ hit it, though / All this fat ass booty, need somewhere to sit it, though,” Monét sings.

Today (July 2), Amazon Music announced Megan’s exclusive track-by-track experience for her eponymous album.

The experience features commentary on select tracks from Megan, including “Spin.” In the audio clip, she discusses how much she loves Monét and her experience working with her in the studio.

“I absolutely adore, adore, adore my twin Victoria Monét. We had to get in the studio,” says Megan Thee Stallion. “She pulled up on me, she came, she said, ‘Megan what we gonna do?’ I said, ‘You ain’t leavin’ this God dang studio until you give me a song!’ and that’s what happened.”

Megan also shares her reaction to Monét’s performance in the studio and how it motivated her. “We got in there and she was singing her little heart out, and I was in there and I was like ‘dang, I gotta come hard’ because I love the way she’s singing. The vibe is great, the melody’s great, and I just felt like it was long overdue. So when we made the song, it just came out beautifully.”
