Sammy Hagar and his all-star band featuring Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony, and Jason Bonham kicked off the “Best of All Worlds” tour (get tickets here) on Saturday (July 13th) at the iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida. As promised, the Red Rocker delivered a set filled with Van Halen classics.
Hagar and company launched the 21-song set with “Good Enough” from Van Halen’s 5150 album. It was one of 12 tunes the band performed from the “Van Hagar” era of Van Halen.
The group also played two full David Lee Roth-era Van Halen songs, “Ain’t Talkin’ Bout Love” (with Anthony on lead vocals) and “Panama,” as well as a bit of “Jump” as part of a three-song medley with Hagar’s “Space Station #5” and Chickenfoot’s “Oh Yeah.”

While Van Halen songs dominated the setlist, Hagar made sure to deliver a few of his signature solo tunes, including “There’s Only One Way to Rock,” “Eagles Fly,” “Heavy Metal,” and “I Can’t Drive 55.”
Shortly after the tour announcement, Hagar invited David Lee Roth and Alex Van Halen to join his band onstage at some point during the outing. DLR replied, “Let’s do this!,” although it became less likely to happen following a war of words between the two singers. Hagar also later ruled out an appearance by Alex, saying that the drummer is not motivated to perform following the passing of his brother Eddie.
The “Best of All Worlds” tour continues through an August 31st show in St. Louis. See fan-filmed video and the setlist of the kickoff show in West Palm Beach below.
