Kehlani Teases ‘While We Wait 2’ Mixtape

Kehlani may have released their last album, Crash, a month ago, but that’s not stopping them from sharing more music with their fans.

The singer recently teased their upcoming mixtape, While We Wait 2, on Instagram. It’s a sequel to their RIAA gold-certified project, which was released in 2019.

“I really missed making music at home,” Kehlani wrote in a caption for a snippet of an unreleased track.

In a separate Instagram post, Kehlani shared a photo of “While We Wait 2” written on a page of a notebook set against a blue sky.

There are no additional details about Kehlani’s upcoming album at this time.

The first installment of While We Wait was released Feb. 22, 2019. Kehlani dropped the project for their fans while they prepared to give birth to their daughter.

Three songs from While We Wait received new RIAA certifications this February, including “Nights Like This” featuring Ty Dolla $ign (3x platinum), “Footsteps” featuring Musiq Soulchild (gold) and “RPG” featuring 6LACK (gold). The former track is the highest-certified song from the project.

As indicated above, Kehlani released their fourth album, Crash, on June 21 via Atlantic Records.

The 13-track album was preceded by the singles “After Hours” and “Next 2 U.” Additionally, it features Jill Scott, Young Miko, and Omah Lay.

“A crash, in any form, is the peak height of the moment,” Kehlani said of the album. “It isn’t the anxiety of the before, or the lament after. It is the ever so imperative present. A space with no reminisce, no remorse, and no afterthought. CRASH IS HERE. At my most free, most fun, most loud, most fueled, so far.”

Crash is the follow-up to 2022’s Blue Water Road.
